2 Months +

I'm definitely a little late in posting, but I'm not entirely to blame, this hosting website was refusing to upload pictures for a week or two.

On November 5th Adeline turned 2 months old! She's growing more and learning more and more everyday!

 Look at me!!

All smiles after her two month shots.

 She's learning to read.

Her eyes were closing more and more with each toy I put in the swing with her.

 Such a happy girl!!!

Learning to hold her toys.

This morning, practicing our Oooo's and Ahhh's.

This weekend will be our first over night trip. We're going to my mom's in Hewitt/Waco. And then in just a few days she'll be 3 months old! So with blogspot's cooperation there will be another post very soon!

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to the Pumpkin Patch this evening! Considering Addie hadn't slept in hours and it was a little chilly out there she did great!!!

Hanging with Mommy.

 Chilling with Dad.

FAMILY PHOTO!!

 A wider shot.

Whew! All that picture taking wore me out!!

6 Weeks Old!

Adeline is 6 weeks old today! I can't decide if time has gone by quickly or if it's just warped from sleep deprivation. She's learning so much and doing so much more every day! She smiles like crazy, recognizes Mommy and Daddy, and every now and then she'll let out this little giggle. She and I are still up two or three times each night, but her sleep spans are getting a little longer.

 Happy 1 Month Baby Girl!

Our first outing to Grandma's house. Addie was happy to get Grandma cuddles.

Sometimes it's just impossible to stay awake.

Checking out that pretty girl in the mirror.

As you can tell she LOVES her bouncer, almost every picture she's sitting in it.

See my tongue? See? See?

Adeline's Newborn Pictures

There will be a few more of these posts in the next year. My [almost] sister-in-law is an amazing photographer and she will be doing Addie's first year pictures. These are the best ones from the newborn shoot. Y'all send me an email if you want me to email any of these to you.

WELCOME ADELINE!!!

She's here! She's here! She's here!!

... Late post, I know, but I've been a little busy.

Adeline Dain Smith arrived on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 5:39 pm. She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Morning of the 5th, headed to the hospital. Just under 12 hours before she was born.

One of her first pictures.

First time wearing her own clothes.

We were released from the hospital on Friday the 7th. Both of us with a clean bill of health. My family came in for the weekend to see Addie and to take care of us by cooking and cleaning.

Cousin Harrison checking her out.... practice practice little boy, you got a new sibling coming real soon!

Since everyone left we've been settling into our new life. I'm exclusively breastfeeding so 8-10 hours per day are taken up with feeding our little girl. For now she wakes up every 2-3 hours during the night. But she's usually very good about nursing, getting a new diaper, then going back to sleep. I'm adjusting to the lack of sleep, but I'll never actually get used to it. I'm a little bit of a zombie.

Hanging out, waiting for mom to get situated so I can eat.

After breakfast.

I think she looks just like Reed, pretty sure all I did was grow her. I see so much of his personality in her as well, she likes to sleep with the tv on, background noise calms her, and good grief she is NOT a morning person, I give her breakfast then leave her be, that's her down time, she'll sit in her bouncer and quietly observe her surroundings or go back to sleep but she does not want to be held or to play.... holy crap, I'm outnumbered.

 just snoozing....

At her first pediatrician's visit at 5 days old, she had lost 12 ounces (common in breastfed babies), and had just a touch of jaundice (also common in breastfed babies). At her second appointment exactly one week later she'd gained over a pound and the jaundice was all gone! The pediatrician was impressed, she said I had magic breastmilk! .... Unfortunately I don't have a picture of me patting myself on the back.

Happy girl!

Our Lil' Gloworm

All in all we're doing pretty good here. All still very much adjusting, but we are more than thrilled to have our Adeline here with us.
