Let's Do This!!!

Pregnancy is officially full term!!! Even though my due date is not for another 3 weeks, my pregnancy is officially considered full term. My doctor said Addie's lungs are maturing and he will not do anything to stop me if I go into labor at any time. I'd like it if she would wait another week or so though. Mine and Reed's Two Year Anniversary is this Friday the 17th, and I'd like for Addie's birthday not to be too close to it.
All my hospital bags are packed and in the car, and later this evening Reed and I will be installing the carseat. I'm so excited to meet our little girl I can hardly stand it. She already has such a personality, 10pm is her crazy time each day, and she doesn't like it at all when I rest anything on my belly (books, magazines, dinner plates), it's like she's telling me "Hey Mom! Space is limited enough in here, you're not allowed to take up any more!"

In the past month or so I've had both of my baby showers, and both were WONDERFUL. All of my hostesses truly outdid themselves, and I appreciate them all so much.

My mom, sister Kimberly, Aunt Paula, and one of my best friends Kaylie threw my Waco shower for me on July 7th.
With my former teachers. Mama (Kindergarten), Mrs. Thomas (5th Grade), Mrs. Beseda (P.E./School Principal), & Mrs. Marak (1st Grade).

My mom's side of the family: Mama, Harrison, Mandi, Grams, Kimberly & Aunt Paula. I love the look on Mama's face trying to get Harrison to smile.

My dad's side (minus Kimberly, Harrison, and Rachel). Cousin April in front, Aunt Carol, and April's daughter Maggie (she didn't want to smile).

All my hostesses.

Smith Family Photo.

And my girlfriends Tiffany and Tracy along with Reed's long time family friend Carolyn threw my Houston shower on August 11th.

Eating before opening gifts, I needed my strength, there were a LOT of gifts.

Some friends from our neighborhood.

Everyone drew a letter from the alphabet to create a custom ABC Book for Addie

Reading the ABC Book, I LOVED this. Too cute that Addie has a book created for her by the family and friends that were at her baby shower.

With my mom.

Addie's Grandmas.

One of the FIVE BEAUTIFUL quilts from Reed's aunt Eileen.

Reed is so amazing, he came to the end of each shower, to say hi to everyone and load up the car. My wonderful (pack mule) Hubby!!!

With the hostesses.

The 120+ photos from the Houston shower look like a progressive slide show of "Watch Emily Swell Up." My doctor does have me relaxing now for the most part, nothing to worry about, but between the heat outside and my swelling he says I need to spend 90% of my time in the air conditioning with my feet propped up.... and at 9 months pregnant I am more than happy to oblige.

Next time you hear from me will be to announce that Adeline Dain Smith has made her arrival!!!

30 Weeks!!! 3/4 There!!!

And hellooooo third trimester and crazy summer heat. Only ten weeks to go until we (hopefully) get to meet our baby girl! My online pregnancy literature says she's a little over 15 inches long and almost 3 pounds..... Well we don't know how long she actually is but an ultrasound a week ago told us she was 3.8 pounds... Lil' Fatty.

Addie and I have had two 3D ultrasounds in the past week. The first one I brought the Grandmas with me (Reed had to work). Addie was head up, bottom down and toes up. She had her big 'ol feet touching her forehead the entire time and her hands over her face. We did learn that she has big feet, abnormally long fingers, and is very proud she's a girl (showing off her little girl parts). We got a couple good pictures of her, but the ultrasound tech told me to come back in a week and we'd try to do better.

Profile shot
Little profile shot with her hands/feet near her mouth.

The best straight on picture we were able to get. Look at those CHUBBY cheeks!!!

Showing off her gymnast skills. That's a toe on her forehead and a hand under her nose. I hate to break it to her but she's going to be too tall to be a gymnast.

Those pictures were from last Monday. Mama C (my mom) and Grandma (Reed's mom) both had a great time checking out our little girl even if she was being a little shy.

Today, Reed and I went back for a redo, hoping to get some better photos.... Boy, were we wrong. Addie had simply inverted her position from a week ago. Head down, bottom up, toes down. She kept her hands and feet in front of her face almost the entire time (40 minutes of me shifting, trying to shift her and NOTHING). Our girl is STUBBORN. I've just decided that she wants to keep her face a secret so we can all be shocked by her beauty on D-Day (Delivery Day).

 Hand under her nose again

 Looking down.

Kind of a funny looking shot, but look at those fat cheeks again!

Another distorted shot, but that's her (I believe) right foot up by her forehead.

Hands in front of her face saying "No photos please"

The best face shot we could manage today. The distortion on the left side of her face and under her eye is a hand, with the finger under her eye.

The ultrasound tech said she gave us a thumbs up today (though I can't figure out which picture it is), so I take that to mean our Little Aggie is practicing for her upcoming college years.

GIG 'EM!!!! Class of 2031!!!   (Mommy thinks)

Nursery Progress!

Busy Busy!!!

We've been working on Addie's nursery for a while now, and although it's not quite done, it is looking GREAT!!
 Before

 Bottom color (sand) done.

Pink and Sand

I painted the trim work (crown moulding and chair rail).... Stella and Sabrina are somewhat lax in their supervising skills.

 All trimmed out and DONE!!

Reed did about 97% of the work, I don't move too fast these days, but I did help even though I was super slow. I created the "artwork" before we painted the pink top half.

Reed moved all Addie's furniture in the room one night when I went to pick up our dinner.
The BEAUTIFUL crib bedding set is courtesy of Grandma (Reed's mom).

Reed even painted the closet in the room! Sorry no "before" pic there, Just picture it as all white, dirty, and without the second shelf and rod.

We've already got some clothes in it but she's going to need a lot more if I plan on her being clothed on a daily basis.

We've gotten a few other necessities for our little girl's impending arrival, Mama C (my mom) sent us our travel system.

And Great-Grams (my grandmother) sent us the pack n play.

Stella would like to thank Grams for the box the pack n play came in. She hid in there for a few days.

If you look closely you can see her eye in there... what can I say? Photographing a black cat in a dark box is not my strong suit.

For those of you that aren't in Texas let me tell you it is HOT already. For those of you that are here, I feel ya. I'm officially in my third trimester of this pregnancy and I'm my own personal furnace so outside is my enemy.... unless it's the pool.... the pool is good.... really good.

6 months pregnant!

The humidity on our back door every morning when I wake up.

A few weeks ago Reed decided the pool was too shaded (and not warming quickly enough) for his liking so we borrowed a neighbor's extendable trimmer and Reed did a little trimming!
That big branch coming down and a few smaller ones really brightened up our back yard. We're both in the pool at least once a day now.

Memorial day weekend Reed went to the Indianapolis 500 with his dad and I went to Waco to see my family there. I brought my lil nephew Harrison a ball, he like throwing things and this ball seems light enough to do little damage, no update from my sister (his mom) if I was right as of yet.

Reed had a blast at Indy, but I'm sure he missed me TERRIBLY (hehehe).

Last week my cousin April was in town with her boyfriend JD who is an extraordinarily talented musician. So Addie got to "experience" her first concert!
John Dempsy Band!

The picture is from the side of the stage because April was so amazing to scrounge up a very comfortable chair for me so I didn't have to stand throughout the concert. It was wonderful! I was expecting to have a tough night having to stand in a crowded group, but being to the side of the stage in a cushy chair, plus the awesome music made for a lovely evening out!

All in all we're all doing great here! I'm growing our super human baby, she has no desire what-so-ever to sleep, and she never does. She's kicking and moving around in there all night and all day. Our 3D ultra sound is June 25, so I'll have some updated pictures of her after that (if she behaves and shows us her beautiful face).

'Til next time!!

Halfway there!!!

20 weeks pregnant!! Meaning we're officially halfway there!! See the pool in the background? That will be my place of residence in the coming summer months. We found out last month that Baby Smith is a GIRL! Adeline Dain Smith will make her appearance in September, this is our beautiful girl's photo from last month.

Second Trimester has been going well for me. Addie is kicking around in there like crazy, and Reed recently got to feel her first big kick too! It's still so crazy to me that in just 4 1/2 months this little human inside me will be in my arms. For now I play music for her (I like to think she's dancing in there) and she already participates in family conversations, when Reed and I sit down together to share what has happened in our days she decides it time to start kicking away and putting her two cents in.

We're getting stuff for the nursery together but for now it's a hodge podge, another nursery update to come soon.

As far as house updates go, we've finally given up on the Grass Gods that we'd hoped would grace our front yard. Reed spent a couple of days working his cute lil' hiney off (I "supervised") and we have a BEAUTIFUL front yard now! The curb-number-painting-people also came through our neighborhood this week so we got a pretty spectacular new curb number too!!

 Before....

Before....

The Door Guy (Reed's company) brought our sod and dirt.

The dirt Reed covered all the tree roots with, our yard had LOTS of roots. And my blue supervisor chair in the background.

Reed, hard at work.

AFTER!!!!

Gig 'em Ags!

Our beautiful grass!!

We're just thrilled with how it turned out. We keep standing out there just admiring our pretty yard.
